Nigerian singer, Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman better known as Oxlade has reminisced on his hustle before fame.
In a recent interview, the 26-year-old star disclosed that he run away from home to pursue his music career and as a result of this, he engaged in menial jobs like selling bus tickets at motor parks and food to survive.
Oxlade further disclosed that his father who is a university lecturer never supported his music career.
He said:
“Honestly, he [my dad] was indifferent at first. But my stubbornness and consistency paid off [laughs].
“I ran away from the house at some point in my life to pursue music personally. And I had to do all sorts of stuff to survive. Selling bus tickets and selling foods at parties.”
In his advice to the youth, Oxlade remarked that anyone who can make it in Surulere can make it anywhere.
