After a 1-1 draw with Udinese at the Dacia Arena, the Partenopei won their first Serie A title in 33 years.

Obafemi Martins was the first Nigerian to accomplish the milestone while playing for Inter Milan in 2005/06.

Osimhen not only won it with Napoli this time, but he was also instrumental in the Partenopei’s success.

In 27 league games this season, the 24-year-old has scored 22 goals and supplied four assists.

The striker is currently in contention to become the first African to win the Serie A Golden Boot.

The Nigeria international has surpassed Samuel Eto’o’s previous record for the most goals scored by an African player in a Serie A season.

Osimhen is also the joint-highest African goalscorer in Serie A history (46 goals).
