Oscar2022: Oscar’s Official Set Record Straight On Will Smiths Slap

The Oscar Award night was indeed a night to remember as Will Smith shocked the entire world who were watching with a slap across Chris Rock’s cheek.

According to PageSix, Reps for the Oscars did not immediately return their request for a comment.

However, Variety executive editor, Ramin Setoodeh tweeted from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood something interesting.

The tweet read;

“Someone who works for the Oscars told me that Chris Rock was not interrupted by Will Smith at rehearsals yesterday,”

It was not supposed to happen. It was real. #Oscars,” he added.

Although it was said that Will Smith was initially laughing at the joke cracked by Chris until he looked over at his wife and noticed that she didn’t actually find it funny.

Keep my wife’s name out of your f–king mouth,” the Best Actor winner shouted twice at the shocked presenter after returning to his seat.

During the first commercial break after the confrontation, Denzel Washington, Bradley Cooper and Tyler Perry were spotted comforting Smith.

Washington, 67, and Perry, 52, appeared to encourage the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” alum to “brush it off,” as Hollywood Reporter columnist Scott Feinberg tweeted alongside a video of them. Smith also looked to be wiping away tears.

PageSix has however confirmed that Rock and Smith has worked things out at the after party which took place at Vanity Fair.
