Novelist, Chimamanda Adichie Remembers Late Father After Two Years

Nigerian award-winning author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie paid tribute to her father, Professor James Adichie, on the second anniversary of his death.

The 44-year-old Enugu State-born novelist shared a reel of picture slides of her father during his lifetime.

In her caption, she wrote,  “May we all live today, really live, and may we all love fiercely and fully while we can.

“Two years today. There is such sadness and emptiness. There is also gratitude.

“Daddy. The man. Odelora Abba. The Original Dada. DOS Defender of Spouse: I am so grateful for the precious gift of being your daughter. O nwero onye dika gi. Uwa m uwa ozo, i ga-abu nna m.”

The last sentence means “There’s no one like you. In my next lifetime, you’ll be my father. ”

Glamsquad Magazine recalls that Professor James Adichie passed away in 2020 after a brief illness. Eight months after his death, his wife, Mrs Grace Adichie also passed away.
