A crossover actor cum movie producer, Adeniyi Akanni, has disclosed that female fans are worst when it comes to sexual harassment of entertainers in the country.

He noted that the menace of sexual harassment of female thespians in the movie industry cannot be compared to what male actors go through in the hands of crazy female fans in the society.

In chat with our correspondent, Adeniyi, who is known in the movie circle as Neyoswags, noted that female fans are becoming more daring when it comes to sexual harassment of male entertainers.

”For the male actors, sexual harassment happens most especially when you are out there in the public with people day to day. I am a regular victim of sexual harassment from females. They  are just too daring. Yes, female fans these days are just so daring.”

The actor who hit the limelight in 2016, with his first movie production, ‘Scandal’, explained that he had been sexually harassed by female fans several times.

”Let me use myself as an instance. I encountered crazy female fans who harassed me sexually and what almost all of them actually want is just my body. The funniest thing is that some will even trick to you to harass you. For example, there was a day I was sexually harassed by a model who had met me for the first time. I had offered a handshake and she said ‘hey fine dude there is no way I am not going to hug you’ and then she suddenly came closer, dragged me to herself and pressed her boobs against my chest. I feel so sad, deeply sad after the encounter, but I continued with the activities of the day unhappy.

”There was another scenario while I was dining with friends at a dinner. At the party, a female fan approached me and made a scene by yelling at me and kissing me drastically. I’m not afraid to say this, because I think she should be ashamed of herself. This woman, who I don’t even know,  recognized me (as an actor) and started screaming, going crazy. She ran to where I was seated and started kissing me and I had to free myself from her grip and politely cautioned her.”

He ascribed the menace of sexual harassment of movie producers by female actors to unstable financial status of those involved in the act, and the craze to hit limelight within the shortest possible time.

“That is why it is advisable for the female actors to shoot their own movies and get other brilliant actors to feature in it and it would boost their career in the movie industry. And for the male actors, I don’t think there’s a way out; in most

cases most male actors enjoy sexual harassment by female fans, but I totally dislike it.”
