Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday has weighed in on the reignited beef between Afrobeat music stars, Wizkid and Davido as she drums her support for the latter.
Glamsquad recalls that the drama started on Monday night while announcing the release of his first single of the year, Wizkid took a jab at Davido after an X user questioned whether he could sell a song without dissing him. In response, Wizkid made it clear he doesn’t engage in beef with “wack niggas,” referring to Davido as talentless.
Interestingly, Wizkid gave Davido a new nickname, “Frigodo,” and confidently stated that no one could rival him, “till infinity.” In another tweet, after a fan expressed concern for Davido’s feelings, Wizkid harshly declared that things wouldn’t go well for him. He also targeted Davido’s friend, Tunde Ednut, mocking him by calling him disabled.
Nkechi Blessing took to the comment section of Davido’s latest post promoting his music video with Angelique Kidjo to take a jab at Wizkid. She wrote, “The only thing we are focused on,” subtly dismissing the ongoing drama.
Nkechi Blessing’s comment didn’t go down well with some of Wizkid’s fans, who quickly slammed her. In response, she fired back, threatening to track them down at their homes and physically confront them.
“See if una come for me, I go find you reach house beat cràze comot your entire family body. If una carry una nonsense near me, Ogun dey kee you”.
Earlier in April Wizkid and Davido had a fallout, Nkechi Blessing initially reacted by assuming the two stars were only clout chasing, believing they had a collaboration coming soon.
However, Davido quickly shut down her speculation in the comments, making it clear that he had no project with Wizkid. He emphasized that he has plenty of hit songs, unlike Wizkid, and even challenged him to release a track on the same day.
It’s no surprise to see Nkechi Blessing defend Davido, as she’s a known fan of the singer.
Back in June, Nkechi was among the lucky celebrities invited to Davido and his wife Chioma’s wedding. Overjoyed, the actress took to Instagram to share photos of her outfit, dubbing it the “Wedding of the Year.” In one of her posts, she proudly mentioned that when Davido called, she answered.
After Davido’s wedding, Nkechi Blessing further demonstrated her loyalty by supporting him at the launch of his partnership with GAC Motors. She promised to always stand by him and be there to celebrate his successes.
