The Nigerian entertainment industry and lovers of highlife music have been thrown into mourning following the demise of Obi Okwudili Casimir, better known as Voombastic Uncle P, a popular Igbo highlife musician.
Music executive Soso Soberekon confirmed Voombastic’s death on his verified Instagram account.
In a post shared on Tuesday night, Soberekon posted the late singer’s picture with the caption “Rest in peace Voombastic Uncle P..What a day”.
As of the time of filing this report, there is no information on the cause of Voombastic’s death.
Uncle P was a former factional Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) National President.
The performer became popular for his indigenous hit songs such as ‘Voom Kamma’, ‘Kpokom’, ’Ngozika’, ‘Figure 8 bu Akwa Nwa’ and ‘Kid Emperor’.
