Nigerian celebrities like Simi, Adekunle Gold, Banky W, Adesua Etomi, have taken to social media to cry out after a court nullified their wedding.
This comes after a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the closure of all federal marriage registries opened by the ministry, including the Ikoyi Marriage Registry, with immediate effect.
According to the requirements of the 1999 Constitution, only local government marriage registries are authorized to conduct marriages, according to the court presided over by Justice D. E. Osiagor (as amended).
