New coronation portraits featuring King Charles III, his son Prince William, and his grandson Prince George of Wales have been revealed by Buckingham Palace.
This is the first time such portraits have been released since the late Queen Elizabeth posed with her three heirs to mark the beginning of a new decade in 2020.
Captured by renowned society photographer Hugo Burnand, a new coronation portrait of King Charles III was taken on Saturday 7th May 2023.
The photograph features His Majesty seated in the opulent Throne Room, adorned in his complete regalia, including the Robe of Estate and the Imperial State Crown while holding the Sovereign’s Orb and Sceptre with Cross.
A second official photo released depicts the King and Queen accompanied by their Pages of Honours and the Ladies in Attendance.
Pictured (left to right): Ralph Tollemache, Lord Oliver Cholmondeley, Nicholas Barclay, Prince George, the Marchioness of Lansdowne, King Charles III, Queen Camilla, the Queen’s sister Annabel Elliot, the Queen’s grandson Freddy Parker Bowles, the Queen’s great-nephew Arthur Elliot, and the Queen’s grandsons Gus Lopes and Louis Lopes.
A comparable photograph was last released in 2020 when the late Queen Elizabeth posed alongside her three heirs to commemorate the beginning of a new decade.
