Netizens fume as Oladips accuses Wizkid of intellectual theft on Asake’s song

Nigerian rapper, Oladipupo Oladimeji, aka Oladips, has called out Grammy-award-winning singer, Wizkid over intellectual theft.

Asake recently launched his new album ‘Lungu Boy’ and featured Wizkid in one of the songs titled ‘MMS’. In his verse, Wizkid takes listeners on an emotional journey, revealing how his mother’s death profoundly changed him. The singer shares that he “lost” himself after her passing but ultimately rediscovered his purpose.

Recalls that Wizkid’s mother, Jane Morayo Balogun, died on August 18, 2023, in London.

While “MMS” has earned rave reviews from fans and music lovers online, Oladips, who resurrected recently accused Wizkid of using a line from 2022 single “Ajala Traveller”.

Taking to his Instagram page, Oladips shared screenshots comparing his previously released lyrics to Wizkid’s recent verse. H questioned if the singer was recycling h]the lyrics or it was just a coincidence.

Oladips lyrics read “I had to lose myself to find my purpose.” Lyrics from Wizkid’s verse on Asake’s MMS says: “Lost Myself, and I found my purpose.”

Captioning the post, He wrote “Recycling Or Coincidence @wizkidayo.”
