‘When I was three years old on December 25, 1988, my mother bought me a Little Tykes hoop,’ James explained. And there’s a photo of that Christmas gift floating around,’ James revealed.
‘I fell in love with basketball at that moment. On December 30, that year, I was about to turn four years old.
‘However, I knew from that moment on that that orange sphere was something I always wanted to be a part of my journey.
‘And who would have guessed… someone said on social media that that was the biggest investment in human history, that a $20 Little Tykes hoop could turn into what it is today. Thank you, Mom. ‘Thank you very much.’
James devoted more time to his family during his ceremony, introducing them as “his starting five.”

‘You know, my two sons, Bronny and Bryce, and my daughter, Zuri. ‘My mother, Gloria, and my wife, Savannah, as if this is my starting five,’ he added.
‘And I wouldn’t be able to do the things that I do on a daily basis, I wouldn’t be out, I wouldn’t be able to come on this court and showcase my talent to you guys every single night if I didn’t have the support and commitment from my family that allows me to do the things that I do.
