NAOMI CAMPBELL HAS AFFIRMED AFRICAN FASHION BEING ON THE RISE

‘And it’s about time!’

She says.

At the just confused Arise Fashion Week held in Lagos, Nigeria, Naomi Campbell has made hope rise in the hearts of Africa, as the supermodel encouraged and applauded the creativity of Africans even amidst the pandemic.

 

Although she was going to attend the event virtually, the supermodel thought it best to be present, so as to “bring awareness to their great work.”

 

2020 hasn’t been a great year for the the African Fashion Industry, African fashion designers kept their consistency still, this Campbell greatly applauded.

 

At the Fashion week, 30 African designers under 30 years of age were selected to showcase their collections to an online audience.

 

 

A winner was chosen by a number of judges including American artist, Kehinde Wiley. The winner, Kenneth Ize received a cash prize of $100,000 alongside other benefits.

 

Mentoring was also part of the winner’s prize, said Campbell.

 

 

For Naomi, giving due support to African fashion designers is one way to push a positive change forward in fashion.
