Nancy Isime, an actress, has explained why she has never been fascinated with the idea of marriage, unlike many other people.
Nancy spoke on the podcast ‘Creativity Live With Lynda’ about her unrelenting pursuit of greatness and self-reliance.
While many young ladies dream of marriage as a source of financial security, Nancy’s perspective was different.
The actress explained that instead of focusing on marriage, she has always been driven by the desire to work hard and earn her own money.
The actress further emphasised her dedication to her craft, stating that she would walk away from any situation—be it a person or a job—that treats her poorly.
She highlighted her self-worth by describing herself as both “the prize” and “the source,” reinforcing her message of independence.
Offering advice to newcomers in Nollywood, Nancy warned that the industry comes with its share of online trolling and criticism.
According to her, anyone entering the industry should be prepared to face scrutiny, or else they’re “just joking.”
In addition, she praised her senior colleagues, including Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade Ekehinde, Mercy Johnson, Rita Dominic, and others, for their contributions to the industry.
She expressed concern, however, that many creatives today lack a spirit of excellence, as they often seem more focused on collecting a paycheck rather than honing their craft.
