MTN Project Fame starts TODAY

Undoubtedly the biggest TV talent reality show in West Africa, MTN Project Fame is set to kick start its ninth edition. The opening gala night is today, July 23, 2016, at Ultima Production Studio, Lekki, Lagos. This year’s edition is tagged Project Fame Season 9. The keenly contested reality show promises to be fun packed.

Audition train for the year’s edition took off from Ibadan, Oyo state on Saturday, June 18, 2016. Another audition held in Accra, Ghana, on the same day. The train proceeded to Port Harcourt, Rivers State and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja where audition held on Saturday, June 25, 2016, while the mother of all auditions held in Lagos from Friday, July 1, 2016 to Saturday, July 2, 2016.

Successful candidates from the auditions in all the regions will make it to the gala night on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Ultima Studio, Lekki, Lagos.

Handsome and gangling movie dude, Joseph Benjamin is returning for the ninth time to host the show alongside ebony skinned beauty, Bolanle Olukanni, who joined the show as a host three years ago. Winners of the show will smile home with millions of naira, brand new cars, multi million naira worth of recording deals and other consolation prizes.

The first prize winner of the coveted title will walk away with N5 million, a brand new SUV, multimillion naira worth of recording deal, etc.

First runner up would smile home with N3 million and a saloon car. Second runner up will take home N2 million and a saloon car. Third runner up will collect N2 million, forth runner up will collect N1 million and fifth runner up N500,000.

Project Fame West Africa is a music talent TV reality show filmed in Lagos-Nigeria and aired in West Africa, with a regional version of Star Academy licensed worldwide by Endermol.

This is with the aim of discovering raw talented music hopefuls who are groomed for success in the Star Academy. The production is run by Ultima Studio yearly. The production format consists of gala evenings held each Sunday on Prime Time. There is usually a weekly recap show and eviction night every Saturday night.

The show is made up of a jury of three judges, Ade Bantu, Bibie Brew and Tee-Y Mix. There are also Faculty Members made up of Joke Silva, Kaffy, Ige and Ben Ogbewi.
