Mohbad’s death: Naira Marley locks Instagram comments amid backlash

Following outrage from critics, Nigerian artist and Marlin Records boss Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley, has shut the comment section of his Instagram posts.

This comes after more than 126,000 individuals have signed a petition calling for the closure of his record business, Marlian Music.

According to Royalng ONLINE, the ‘Marlian’ crooner has been at the eye of the controversy since the death of his former signee, Mohbad, set social media ablaze this week.

Naira Marley praised Mohbad as “an incredible street pop star who contributed to the foundation of Marlian Music” in a message on his Instagram account Friday night.

Despite the backlash, he claims the label never intended to damage Mohbad.

However, findings by our reporter show the artiste locked his comment section on the two posts to avoid backlash from angry fans.

Meanwhile, Lagos State Police Command has said the corpse of the late singer would be exhumed for an autopsy to aid investigation into the cause of his death, if it is necessary.

Speaking during an Instagram live session with media personality, Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze, on Thursday night, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the police would probe to know the cause of Mohbad’s death.
