Glamsquad reports that following the declaration of Ademola Adeleke, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, as the Osun governor-elect, there were outpourings of emotion in Osogbo.
Adeleke supporters were seen rejoicing and celebrating their candidates’ victory in major Osogbo locations.
Ecstatic supporters were seen jubilating and shouting “Imole,” which means illumination, the governor-campaign elect’s slogan, in Oke-Fia, Olaiya, Old Garage, and Markson Junction.
Meanwhile, a crowd gathered at his Ede Country home to see him and celebrate with him.
Muritala Kayode, a PDP youth leader, told this platform that he was overjoyed because the party and Ademola Adeleke had been vindicated.
Muritala declared that the victory was well worth the four-year wait.
Recalling that the party’s mandate was stolen in the 2018 gubernatorial election, he expressed optimism that Adeleke would bring the desired promises to fruition in the state.
He stated that the party had matured and would now play politics as it should have done during its 12 years in opposition.
In the Saturday, July 16, 2022, gubernatorial election, Ademola Adeleke of the PDP defeated incumbent governor Adegboyega Oyetola of the APC by a vote of 403,371 to 375,027.
