Microsoft Edge Auto Alt Text Image Featur

“Microsoft Edge will now provide auto-generated alt text for images that do not include it,” said Travis Leithead, the Microsoft Edge program manager, via their official blog post

He went on to say that the new Edge browser function is an assistive technology designed to help users rapidly determine what the image is about.

Some of you may be wondering how a blind person can read the auto-generated alt text. A screen reader can help with this.

Friends or family members of blind people should install a screen reader on their computer so that it can generate audio that reads the alt text aloud to the blind user.

How Edge’s New Feature Works?

Microsoft Edge must connect to Microsoft servers in order to use the new auto alt-text image capability. The browser will send picture data in an anonymous manner.

Following that, the data image will be processed by artificial intelligence, which will be able to identify the items in the shot.

The Edge browser will be able to generate appropriate image labels for the unlabeled photos as a result of this.
