Stephen Belafonte, Mel B’s ex-husband, is being sued in court by a young up-and-coming singer who claims he cost her a fortune by duping her into a bogus management contract, glamsquad reports

Malu Trevejo claims in her lawsuit that Stephen Belafonte duped her into signing a binding agreement to have him exclusively represent her as her manager. She claims he discovered her in 2020 and suggested they meet one-on-one to discuss business.
Trevejo claims Belafonte misrepresented himself as a licensed talent agent in court documents obtained by TMZ. She also claims that the agreement he had her sign was completely one-sided in his favor, and she signed it naively.
She also accuses him of misappropriation of funds and predatory financial practices that Belafonte engaged in.
Trevejo, for example, claims Belafonte used her money to rent a luxury Beverly Hills home in 2021, but he lied and claimed the lease was only for a few months when she claims it was for a year.
Trevejo claims Belafonte was using the house mostly for himself and making her pay for it.
A $400k loan is another case of alleged fraud. Malu Trevejo claims Belafonte loaned her money through a friend only to charge her a hefty interest rate of up to $150,000.
These are just a few of the examples Malu provided as she accused him of a slew of self-dealing at her expense and under dubious circumstances.
Trevejo claims she is entitled to compensation from Belafonte because he has cost her a lot of money over the last two years.
Trevejo is suing for, among other things, fraud, conversion, conspiracy, theft, misappropriation, and breach of fiduciary duty.
