In this week’s designer profile, we will be checking out the creative director of Emanuel Ungaro, Marco Colagrossi. Italian Marco Colagrossi was appointed the creative director early March 2017.
The designer has experience working as a consultant for a number of upscale businesses, including Giorgio Armani, where he also served as senior fashion designer for women’s apparel.
He was a senior fashion designer in charge of ready-to-wear and special projects for celebrities at Dolce & Gabbana before that. He began there as a collection coordinator for the women’s and men’s lines.
Due to financial issues with its Italian manufacturer Modalis, which has been placed in receivership, Emanuel Ungaro was forced to postpone its runway show during this season’s Paris Fashion Week.
In the interim, the label has a production contract with Cieffe, an Italian plant located in Soncino, close to Cremona.
He has indeed been doing a wonderful job as the creative director as the spring summer 2023 RTW Collection were indeed exquisite.
