Meet Sheebah And Other Top Artists From Uganda


Ugandan artists have taken important steps to raise the standard of Ugandan music to an International level. This year, we’ve seen several Ugandan artists releasing big hits and charts throughout the year. Uganda is also honored to be the main host of the 2o21 MTV MAMA Awards and we are all excited to see what they have in store.

1. Sheebah

Queen Sheebah continued to carve a place for herself in the Ugandan music scene. This year she released a hit album, Samali, which features some of the biggest Ugandan hits of the year such as Ninda, Nakyuka, Empeta with King Saha, and Nalwawo. The famous singer also received an MTV European Music Awards nomination for Best African Artist.

2. Daddy Andre

Daddy Andre has had a phenomenal year when it comes to releasing solid hits. The award-winning singer gave us Biloowozo, I Miss You, Nangana alongside his wife, Nina Roz, and the unforgettable Tugende Mu Church, which still tops the Uganda charts.

3. Spice Diana

Spice Diana From her first outing at Muntu Wenge with Chozen Blood to her most recent hit Yo Love, 2020 has seen Spice Diana have a consistent year. However, we can all agree that Kokonya alongside Tanzanian Harmonize takes Cake

4. John Blaq

This young star continues to show off his artistic skills and never ceases to impress. Their first hit of the year, Mu Lubiri was well received by listeners, but it was Don’t Be Like that hit the airwaves in Uganda this year.

5. Pallaso

Pallaso Pallaso took an important step with his hit Malamu which reached a million views in a month, the first for the singer. He has also released several fan favorites, including Wankuba Remix featuring Bruno K and, more recently, Ani Onyo.
