Omotunde Adebowale David is popularly known as Lolo 1, is an award-winning Nigerian on-air personality, TV presenter, comedian, and actress best known for her role as “Adaku” in Jenifa’s Diary by Funke Akindele. Omotunde was born in Lagos State to a Yoruba family and is a native of Ijebu-Igbo in Ogun State. She attended the Ijebu-Ode Anglican Girls School for high school and studied law at Lagos State University, after which she went to law school.

 

Omotunde practiced law for three years before returning to his first love, which was audiovisual. Lolo 1, as she is affectionately called, has an amazing personality that you will fall in love with at first sight. she has a melodious voice that can keep her listeners on radio. As an actress, this beauty can make your ribs crack with laughter. She is bold, skillful, talented, and versatile.

Adebowale started her broadcasting career in 2004 at Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria before moving to Metro FM, joining Wazobia FM in 2008, where she worked as a news anchor. Two years later, she began her project Oga Madam Office, where she talked over all manners of issues. It also hosts an annual comedy Oga Madam Live on Stage, which features performances by leading artists such as Tiwa Savage and Brymo.

You’ll be surprised to see how she earned the nickname “Lolo 1”. Omotunde did a radio show in which she asked her radio subscribers for a nickname suggestion. She ended up getting 3,000 entries but later decided on “Lolo” because she wanted something simple and understandable. She too liked the reality that Lolo in Igbo means “Queen”. Omotunde immersed herself in acting in a role in which she played the role of “Adaku”, an Igbo character, in the Diary of Jenifa. She was discovered as a talent by Funke Akindele on Yaw Show. Many thought Lolo1 was an Igbo woman until they knew her real name.
