Antar Babatunde Laniyan, simply known as Antar Laniyan, is a Nigerian actor, producer, and director. He is recognized for his action parts in most Yoruba films. He grew up in the army barracks in Ilaro. He proceeded to a Muslim primary school and a Baptist secondary school in Lagos before gaining admission into University of Ibadan, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in theatre arts.
He began acting at a remarkably youthful age around 1976 while performing plays, but commenced professionally in 1981, about 37 years ago with Ben Tomoloju. Antar’s first part was as “Major General” in the film “Everybody Wants to Know During His Days on the Kakaki Art Team.
Antar Laniyan, aside featuring in numerous films such as, Amiwo, Arewa, Durodola and Sango, He spear headed the episode of the award-winning soap opera “Super story” created by Wale Adenuga He also directed “Oh Father Oh Daughter” produced by Wale Adenuga
