Madonna discharged from hospital after serious bacterial infection

Following a stay in intensive care, American singer-songwriter, Madonna has been released from the hospital and is now at home and doing better, according to the BBC.

Her manager informed people of her condition and said she had a “serious bacterial infection.”

The 64-year-old had to postpone a seven-month world tour that was set to start in the upcoming weeks.

Using a private ambulance, she was driven to her New York residence, a source said CNN, adding, “She’s in the clear.”

Madonna, who is typically quiet about her health, was wrapping up her lengthy world tour’s rehearsals.

In two weeks, the Celebration tour was scheduled to kick off in Canada and go to 45 locations around the globe.

Her 12th tour, which would have marked 40 years in the music business, was scheduled to take place.

The 45th richest self-made woman in the US, according to the American magazine Forbes, has an estimated net worth of $580 million (£460 million), and she has reportedly generated an estimated $1.2 billion from tours.
