Lyrics Are Now Available To All Spotify Subscribers Worldwide

Spotify has made lyrics a native component of its service for all of its customers, both free and premium, around the world.

Bringing a long-awaited product feature to its entire listener base after it was already native to its service in a few significant corners of the globe.

Spotify has risen to become the world’s most popular music service as the general society has turned to streaming as the preferred method of listening to music. While many Spotify users would have to exit the app to get the lyrics to the music they were listening to, competitor streaming services made lyrics a standard feature. Lyrics were previously exclusively available on Spotify in India, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.

Spotify listeners will be able to get the lyrics to the song they’re listening to without having to go searching for them on their own after the global release on Thursday.

Lyrics will be available on Apple and Android smartphones and tablets, as well as desktop computers, smart TVs (such as Android TV, Fire TV, Samsung, Roku, LG, Sky, and Comcast), and game consoles (including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and XBox One).

On Spotify’s mobile app, enter the “currently playing” view on a song and swipe up from the bottom while listening to find lyrics. The song’s lyrics will scroll in time with the music. Tap the “share” button at the bottom of the lyrics screen to share specific lyrics from that song on social media. Highlight the lyrics to share on the platform of your choice.

Click the microphone button in the “currently playing” area of Spotify’s desktop app. Look for the lyrics button in the right corner of the “currently playing” screen in the TV app and choose whether or not to enable lyrics. By default, you’ll see lyrics in the “currently playing” window once they’re switched on.
