Loewe Runway Show for Paris Fashion Week FW23 Ready To Wear Collection brought about some important designs to the attention of audience with remarkable material choice.

Russell wore a strapless black velvet gown with panniers protruding from the hips, a silhouette lifted from the Baroque period via the 1920s robe de style, which is making a comeback on the runways. Anderson went back to it in three different colors. Here, repetition was a motif in and of itself.

Another quartet of strange dresses with swagged fronts suspended from triangular wire peaks that reached up toward the face. Even more short styles, hardly dresses, were made of enameled metal painted with flowers. The babyless baby carriers appeared to be fabric-covered versions of the gold breastplates that were so popular on the Loewe runway a year ago.

Aside from the ambiguities, there were softer pieces that showcased the Spanish label’s leather expertise, such as oversized shirtdresses and sweatshirt dresses with split arms that let the limbs swing freely, as well as romantic evening numbers whose delicate fabrics were gathered with bows at the waist.
