This season, Anderson preferred anthuriums, and the centerpiece of his Paris Fashion Week show included a gigantic version of the flower. The air is filled with an unsettling vibe as somber violins quickly shift from setting a somber tone to making a calm transition and switching to the sound of heels clattering.
Some models had their upper halves replaced with waxy Anthurium flowers that had been molded into reality, while others walked down the catwalk wearing exaggerated-hip dresses that had been frozen like ice. Glossy clothing with handpainted blooms that evoked DIY pottery was embellished, and footwear direct from the jungle had leaves stuck to it.
Autumnal layering was accentuated by sculpted clothing that took on a life of its own, along with dual-toned leather coats enhanced with exaggerated sleeves that dangled against the shimmering floor. Pixelated hoodies, tees, and trousers were taken from a digital 8-bit universe.
The brand has experienced a spike in popularity under Jonathan Anderson’s leadership, and as the oldest fashion house inside LVMH, the stakes are high to preserve the company’s history.
Since being hired in 2013, Anderson has given LOEWE fresh vitality with unique designs soaked in surrealist codes that captivate onlookers.
