Lookbook: Lela Rose Pre-fall 2023 Collection

Lela Rose Pre-fall 2023 Collection gave light to some pretty amazing designs.

Rose found inspiration in the sea for pre-fall. When using a notion as literal and inclusive as food or fish, there is a risk that the garments could swiftly veer into absurdity. The clothes this season never felt overly garish because of the largely subdued color scheme.

The open-weave knit golden sweater with flexible fish embellishments (a play on fishermen’s nets) and the delicate organza gowns with abstract blue waves, orange and pink florals, and fish, once more, captured my attention.

However, not every allusion was as obvious. Moving water served as inspiration for a crushed blue plissé dress, and Rose’s “hidden treasure pants” are a pair of pants adorned with a geometric sequin design. Like the majority of Rose’s collections, it is feminine and wearable with a hint of eccentricity.
