Huge flares and liquid mermaid dresses in viscose also made a comeback as alternatives to the sure-to-be-a-hit idea, this time worn underneath ultra-cropped, round-shaped piuminos or with enveloping knitted coats that mimicked a furry feel.

As a decorative element, ruching took the place of embellishments. It was sewn into the seams of inside-out denim pants and fitted shirts, and it was extended into sort of trailing ribbons that hung from hems or from voluminous knitted draped jumpers.
