The pearl allusion at the beginning of the show was interpreted as glossy suits with Armani’s signature delicate sharpness. He then switched to black tailoring, frequently with velvet trim and pearl buttons and other light-catching details. Much like the various slim-line evening dresses in the parade that followed, the suits were mainly worn with flats.
