Lookbook: Acne Studio Spring Summer 2023 RTW Collection

For SS23, creative director, Jonny Johansson put in more effort as it’s designs is one of a kind.

Johansson stated that he was more interested in the group of close friends and family that might gather to celebrate the engaged couple: the bad brother, the mother who lets the bad brother get away with everything, the tipsy aunt, etc.

The ostensible bride wore white embroidered tulle in the shape of an elongated pillow case, with the corners creating drama around the shoulders.

Intricate maxi dresses, ruffled tops, and asymmetrical skirts were all made of materials like silk, tulle, bows, and crochet knit. Meanwhile, practical materials like hand-painted leather embellished with studs and garment-dyed cotton organza were paired with romantic accents like lace, georgette, and satin-crepe.

On the runway, gingham also made a comeback thanks to a pantsuit in black and cherry red that featured the motif. Another noteworthy item is the season’s depiction of a bride’s dress, which takes the form of an extended pillowcase made of white tulle with white embroidery.

In other places, asymmetrical skirts, ripped knits, and crocheted tops were praised as some of the show’s key highlights.
