Kunle Remi speaks on Mr Macaroni’s character in Anikulapo

Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has described Akanji, a character played by Mr Macaroni in Kunle Afolayan’s Anikulapo.

Mr Macaroni

Saro (played by Kunle Remi), a travelling cloth weaver, is beaten to death for having an affair with the Alaafin’s youngest wife, Arolake (played by Bimbo Ademoye).

A mystical bird resurrects him, leaving behind a gourd with the ability to resurrect the dead.

Kunle Remi stated during a recent Instagram live session that Akanji was jealous of Saro because he found favour in the eyes of women.

Mr Macaroni, 33, was also described as a “fantastic” actor.

“I feel Akanji was probably jealous of Saro even though he warned him to stay away from his sugar mummy but forget Mr Macaroni is my guy, he nailed that role. I wish he could come on let’s discuss it,” Kunle said.

Speaking on his onscreen chemistry with Bimbo Ademoye, Kunle added: “No doubt I and Bimbo always have chemistry on screen, I love her, lover her to bits, that’s my guy. That was one of the most vulnerable moments for this character; it was the first time we saw her say “take me, this is me,” despite the fact that she had been married.”

The film, which is set in the 17th-century Oyo Empire, also stars Sola Sobowale, Hakeem Kae-Kazim, Taiwo Hassan, Faithia Williams, Aisha Lawal, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Dele Odule, Yinka Quadri, and Adebayo Salami.
