Buckingham Palace revealed the image chosen for the King and Queen Consort’s first Christmas card since Charles became King following the death of his mother, Elizabeth II, on Sunday, December 11, glamsquad reports

The photograph was taken on September 3, just five days before Queen Elizabeth II’s death, at a Highland Gathering.
Photographer Sam Hussein captured Charles and Camilla smiling at the Braemar Royal Highland Gathering in September.
It shows the King in a side profile wearing a tweed suit with a red, green, and beige tie, while Camilla is dressed in a green suit and matching hat.
King Charles reveals the first Christmas card photograph, which was taken days before Queen Elizabeth.

During the event, Charles officially opened a new structure commemorating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee while watching the annual Highland Games at The Princess Royal and Duke of Fife Memorial Park.
His mother was not present at the time due to her failing health.
