Nollywood veteran actress, Kate Henshaw has voiced her disapproval of the current administration’s decision to reinstate the old national anthem, questioning the appropriateness of this change given the country’s ongoing struggles.
The fitness enthusiast argues that this decision fails to address the pressing issues of hardship and poor governance that Nigeria is currently facing.
Taking to her X account, Kate sarcastically suggests that reverting to a colonial-era anthem will somehow miraculously foster patriotism and alleviate the country’s hardships.
She wrote;
“In the midst of excoriating hardship & lack of good governance on every level but not to worry 😏 going back to a colonial anthem will be a soothing balm and inject patriotism back into our veins, a much needed drug.🚶♀️➡️🚶♀️➡️🚶♀️➡️🚶♀️➡️🚶♀️➡️. The labour of our heroes past… O ti lo”
