Kanye West may be gone, but Julia Fox’s eye makeup has lasted until the very end. Indeed, the actress’s undiluted inky black eyeliner look has spawned a slew of memes and is as much a part of her style as her matched clothes with her ex-boyfriend Ye, whom she broke up with days ago.
Who can forget how her black-rimmed peepers stole the show on the front row at Schiaparelli’s latest haute couture presentation? The style was created by celebrity makeup artist Daniel Kolaric, who used Pat McGrath Labs products (Pat McGrath herself developed the look for the Schiaparelli Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2022 show).

If you want to replicate Fox’s characteristic eye makeup, professional makeup artist Sha Shamsi says there are other approaches and more acceptable eye makeup for mere mortals to learn.
“Instead of intensely painting your entire eye socket and lids, tone things down by running your liner several times along the shape of your eyes instead of filling up your whole eye,” she says.

She add that you can also substitute an eyeliner pencil with powder and a damp brush to achieve a softer and painterly appearance. “Alternatively, use softer tones like light brown, soft pink or caramel for something less intimidating,” she says.
