Veteran actress Joke Silva has posted a video capturing her final dance with the late songwriter, singer, and actress Onyeka Onwenu.
Silva uploaded the video on her Instagram, showing them dancing with vigor at industrialist Stella Okoli’s 80th birthday celebration on Tuesday.
She added the following caption:
“My sis, exactly a week ago yesterday I interviewed you at the National Theatre. I loved your dress…”
Reflecting on the interview, Joke said it was fantastic as Onyeka responded positively and even took pictures with the “genzees.”
The actress also spoke about the event on Tuesday, stating, “I knew I would see you at Aunty Stella’s 80th. Lo and behold, we were on the same table and had a great time. We all called it the fun table.
“Your performance, as always, was brilliant, sexy, committed, feisty, and so giving. And then we danced, just for two minutes, and then you left… What a bow… with a flourish. Adieu sis… RIP.”
Onyeka died after slumping at Mrs Okoli’s birthday party.
She was born in 1952 in Obosi, Anambra State.
Meanwhile, Nigerians on social media are paying tribute to the late singer/songwriter, actress, and broadcaster, Onyeka Onwenu.
The 72-year-old passed away at a Lagos hospital on Tuesday, July 30, after collapsing at the 80th birthday celebration of industrialist Stella Okoli.
Reportedly, she collapsed following her performance at the event. Many Nigerians, especially from the entertainment industry, have expressed their condolences on social media, wishing the versatile performer eternal peace.
