Bulgari was the granddaughter of the famous jewelry house’s founder, Sotirios Bulgari. Growing up, she developed an interest in art, design, and mathematics, all of which fit well with the family business.

In 1973, she succeeded her father as Bulgari’s co-CEO. However, conflicts within the family drove her to go out on her own in 1976. Her company was originally called Crisart, but it was later changed to Marina B.

In 1978, Marina B opened her first boutique, in Geneva, which was followed by stores in Milan, Rome, and Paris.

May her soul rest in peace!
