Hollywood couple, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are reportedly set to file for divorce after months of marital issues and split rumours.
According to Daily Mail, Ben, 51, and Jennifer, 55, are pushing ahead with divorce after a final attempt at reconciliation in recent weeks failed.
People reported that the couple’s divorce documents ‘are finalized, but not yet turned in’, multiple sources have claimed.
The news comes after Affleck purchased a $20.5 million ‘bachelor pad’ mansion in Pacific Palisades on Wednesday, July 24, coinciding with Lopez’s 55th birthday.
Jennifer’s friends described Ben’s sudden purchase of a bachelor pad on her birthday as a “stab to the heart.”
The purchase occurred just days after the couple listed their Beverly Hills mansion for $68 million, and on the same day, Lopez finalized the sale of her four-bedroom New York City penthouse for $23 million.
“They finalized the divorce papers a month ago, but are waiting for the right time to announce it,” one source close to the duo claimed.
“When they do, they will release a joint statement expressing their love for each other and how hard they tried to make it work, but ultimately couldn’t. In the end, they couldn’t come to a compromise. What they once had is gone, and they’ve both come to terms with that,” another source added.
The pair were last seen together on March 30 and spent the summer apart, with Jennifer primarily on the East Coast while Ben stayed in Los Angeles.
They even spent their second wedding anniversary on July 16th in different cities.
Reports of Ben and Jenniffa’s marital troubles began circulating in May when a source close to the couple revealed that Ben had moved into a $100,000 rental and that the couple intended to sell their “dream home.”
Affleck’s rental is just a short drive from ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s Brentwood house. The former couple share three children: Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12.
The couple known as ‘Bennifer‘ rekindled their romance in 2021,17 years after they called off their original engagement in 2004. Affleck went on to marry Jennifer Garner in 2005 and divorced in 2018.
J-Lo has been married three times in the past. Her first husband, Ojani Noa from 1997–1998; second, Cris Judd from 2001–2003 and Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014. She and Anthony are parents to twins Max and Emme, 14.
