American singer and actress, Jennifer Lopez and her husband, Ben Affleck, have officially finalized their divorce, just five months after their surprising separation.
The former celebrity couple, who exchanged vows in a Las Vegas ceremony in July 2022, will officially end their marriage on February 20, 2025.
After rekindling their romance in 2021 following nearly two decades apart, Lopez and Affleck decided to separate in April 2023, with Lopez filing for divorce in August 2024.
Despite their short-lived marriage, the couple successfully reached a divorce settlement through mediation in September 2024.
Court filings reveal that both Lopez and Affleck will retain ownership of the assets they individually acquired during their marriage.
The couple had jointly purchased a $61 million Beverly Hills property, which sources confirm was included in the final settlement, though the exact details remain undisclosed.
Lopez, who entered the marriage without a prenuptial agreement, has requested the court to finalize the divorce proceedings. She will officially drop “Affleck” from her name.
While financial details of the split remain under wraps, the settlement process was notably swift compared to protracted celebrity divorces like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s.
Despite the end of their marriage, Lopez and Affleck maintain a cordial relationship. Affleck has three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner and shares no children with Lopez.
A source close to the pair revealed to Page Six that they remain connected and communicate regularly, particularly regarding their respective families. “They have every intention of staying in each other’s lives despite no longer being romantically involved,” the source shared.
In December 2024, the former couple was spotted at Soho House in Los Angeles, exchanging gifts in what appeared to be a friendly gesture.
