‘Days of our Lives’ star, John Aniston, father of Hollywood actress, Jennifer Aniston has died at 89.
In a poignant social post on Instagram Monday, November 14, The 53-year-old “Friends” star, conveyed the news with a carousel of photographs.
Captioning the photos, she wrote:
“Sweet papa … You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace – and without pain.”
For almost as long as his daughter has lived, John played Victor Kiriakis on “Days of Our Lives.” He joined the cast of the soap opera in 1970, and he stayed there till his passing. In actuality, Friday is reported as his last show with a credit.
Noting that he passed on 11/11, Jennifer says, “You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now. I’ll love you till the end of time”
He received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Daytime Emmy Awards in 2022 after 52 years with “Days” In 1986 and 2001, he also received Soap Opera Digest awards.
John was born in Greece, and before becoming famous on television, he appeared in numerous theater shows. The West Wing, Star Trek: Voyager, Mission: Impossible, and Kojak are a few other shows in which he has appeared.
Telly Savalas, the star of “Kojak,” and John were the best of friends, and John even chose him to be Jennifer’s godfather.
John is survived by Jennifer, his son Alexander and his wife Sherry Rooney.
