Jason Wu Runway Show for New York Fashion Week FW23 Ready To Wear Collection was one of the best highlight for the fashion week as the show kick started with models coming from behind a huge curtain provided for them as they walked towards eager audience who welcomed them with camera to capture the moment.
Trust the fashion house to put their customers choices at heart when producing such epic designs. The collection also reflected a rising jadedness toward the glitzy, changed digital world. A print in the series was inspired by unaltered photographs of flowers taken by the German photographer Karl Blossfeldt.
The combination of a delicate dress with a hardy coat that might have been taken from a lover gave an erotic element while still feeling like a contemporary way to approach evening wear, according to Wu, who called this one of his moodiest collections. Speaking of sexiness, the dresses for the launch of the collection had bra straps with metal sliders as the fringe—a brilliant and distinguishing design choice.
As most women would actually wear them, it was also refreshing to see lingerie gowns that were provocative without being completely sheer for a change. It felt original to choose bodysuits and briefs over strings for an outfit like the exquisitely beaded finale dress with its stunning T-back feature.
The collection included hourglass and flapper styles. A red blazer in toy-soldier red belonged to the latter group. A possible ideal LBD with a scoop neck, angled seams, and an asymmetric skirt under which fringe dropped ever-so-gently, like stamens from a flower, was also well-fitted.
