Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has finally responded to the N500 million lawsuit controversial singer, Azeez Adeshina Fashola better known as Naira Marley filed against her.
Glamsquad reported a few days back that Naira Marley had demanded a public apology from Iyabo over alleged defamation of his character or risk facing legal proceedings which could amount to N500 million as damages.
In a letter sent by his Lawyer to Iyabo Ojo, he claimed that the latter falsely accused him of having a hand in Mohbad’ death and published malicious content about him on her Instagram page. Read Here
Reacting to the Naira Marley’s demands, Iyabo noted that the singer through his lawyer never found it worthwhile to serve her the lawsuit privately, rather it was being disseminated online.
The courageous mother of two had initiated legal action by filing a counterclaim against him. The basis of her counterclaim was his failure to personally serve her with the lawsuit or send it through mail, a situation that raised concerns of potential blackmail.
In a counterclaim, Iyabo Ojo called ‘Queen Mother’ is demanding one billion Naira from the singer for intentionally providing false information to the public.
“MY RESPONSE TO THE LETTER FROM MR OLALEKAN OJO SAN DELIBERATELY CIRCULATED OVER SOCIAL AND PRINT MEDIA WITHOUT DESERVING COURTESY TO SERVE ME. I look forward to hearing from them at no distant time, please. Yours sincerely, Iyabo Ojo”.
