Singer Davido’s Personal Logistics manager, Israel DMW has tendered an apology to Muslims on behalf of his boss for the controversial music video that he promoted.
Glamsquad reported that Davido had been under fire from Muslims across the country after he shared a snippet of the music video of his signee, Logos Olori entitled ‘Jaye Lo’ on his Twitter page on Saturday, 22nd July 2023.
The video, considered a disrespectful portrayal of the Islamic religion, received widespread criticism. This led to protests by several Northern youths who took to the streets, vandalizing banners that displayed the singer’s face.
Nollywood actor, Ali Nuhu also weighed into the matter and asked the singer to take down the video and tender an apology to Muslims.
Tendering an apology on behalf of his boss to Muslims, Israel DMW called for love to reign.
According to Israel DMW, the music video was meant to be a form of entertainment but was unfortunately presented in a misguided manner.
He noted that Davido’s intentions were merely to support and promote up-and-coming singers, as he often does.
“Let me specially apologise to my Muslims brothers and sisters, on the video my oga posted, as a result of him wanting to lift up somebody, which is one of his hubbies. It was purely an entertainment effort wrongly presented. Make una no vex. Love you all.”
