Nollywood actress, Ronke Odusanya has opened up on her crashed marriage to Saheed Olarewaju better known as Jago.
In an interview with her colleague, Bimpe Akintunde, she revealed a shocking betrayal by a friend who falsely accused her of promiscuity, telling her husband that she had left their home to spend the night with a senator, even taking their daughter along. She disclosed that when she actually left her husband’s house, she had just N10,000 to her name and was forced to stay with her brother temporarily.
Ronke mentioned that her ex eventually realized he shouldn’t have believed the rumors and accusations he heard about her at the time. This acknowledgment came after reflecting on how those false claims had affected their relationship, leading to regrets over having trusted misleading information from others.
She said,
“When it happened that time and degenerated, my partner later realized that he shouldn’t have listened to the things he heard back then.
A friend of mine told him that I wanted to leave him and go into prostitution. That when I left that night, I went to sleep in a Senator’s house with Fife. When he told me, my mouth was left open. Then I sent him a picture; God gave me grace; I didn’t know how I did it. I did a recording of the time and the date, were on my phone for the video. I recorded it when we got to where we would sleep. When we left, I didn’t have up to N10,000 in my account, but I decided this was it. I had nothing; all my jewelry was taken away, and I fainted with that. I was wondering where to start from. I cried so much that day because I didn’t have money to get an accommodation”.
In February 2021, Ronke Odusanya and her ex-husband, Saheed, faced legal disputes concerning their child’s paternity. Saheed appeared in court to request a DNA test to confirm the child’s paternity before moving forward with other proceedings. The court approved the DNA test, but Ronke, represented by her lawyer, stipulated that Saheed must cover the cost of the testing.
In February 2022, Saheed took to Instagram to address the paternity controversy surrounding his daughter, with Ronke Odusanya. In a heartfelt video, he apologized for requesting a DNA test, affirming that she is indeed his daughter and expressing profound love for her. Saheed explained that past misunderstandings had influenced his actions, but he now regretted the decision and wanted to move forward positively.
Ronke and Saheed’s daughter, Fife clocked five on 18th August 2024.
