This year, Instagram is focusing on introducing more business-oriented features. The recent update may pave the way for an exclusive that is now available in early access.
Clickable links to IG stories are now available on the social media platform. Users can also try out a new Link Sticker option right now. This feature was previously only available to those with a large number of followers.
Clickable Link Stickers on Instagram
According to Forbes, Instagram announced on its blog post that it will now allow all accounts to include links in Stores. This cool feature allows you to add a dedicated link URL as well as select different color options.
When someone views your Stories, he or she can simply click on the added sticker to be directed to a specific link.
Furthermore, the social-sharing app is looking for ways to improve customization options for the aforementioned feature. The platform specifically wanted to clarify what a user would see after clicking the link.
In some cases, an account may be unable to use the feature or may be unable to see the option for the link sticker. If the user’s account is still “too new,” this may occur.
It’s also worth noting that those who have been reported for inappropriate content are not permitted to use this feature. Those who are unable to use the “Clickable Links” feature can do so for the time being until the feature becomes available to them.
How to Include Clickable Links in Instagram Stories
With the restriction removed, anyone can now use the Link Stickers to add links. While it may take some time for the company to roll out the feature to all accounts, there are a few steps you can take if you want to test it right away.
According to NDTV, here’s how to get started with Clickable Links.
Swipe right when you open the Instagram app on your phone. Following that, an option will appear informing you that you can now post media as a story.
Swipe up after adding a photo or video to see a sticker selection. There should be a Link option that appears. It’s next to the poll widget options and below the GIF.
Select the Link option. Copy and paste the URL you want to use in Stories.
Following that, the link will appear. You can place it wherever you want in your Stories.
There is a Link Sticker that you can click. Remember that users who click it will be directed to the URL you specified.
Put anything you want on your Stories, and don’t forget to share it.
Instagram Pronouns Are Now Available
We reported in May that Instagram is now launching a special feature for gender identification.
To name a few, the Facebook-owned company added pronoun options such as ey/em/eir, fae/faer/faers, xe/xem/xyr, ze/hir/hirs, and thons/thons.
If Instagram is down, there is a method you can use to determine if it is operational. Begin by searching for Issues on the Help page. Don’t forget to update your app to the most recent version.
