Big Brother Naija ‘Shine Ya Eyes’ winner, Hazel Onuo, better known as WhiteMoney has revealed key insights into his musical journey and the driving forces behind industry success.
During a recent Instagram live session, WhiteMoney reflected on his tour across eight U.S. states, spotlighting his musical evolution and the wealth of experience he gained.
Whitemoney shared his thoughts on fast rising singer, Shallipopi’s success, crediting it more to his charisma and stage presence than to his vocal talent.
He also believes that his extensive musical background and industry experience uniquely position him to offer guidance to Shallipopi.
He also admitted that Shallipopi’s unique strengths and experiences could offer him valuable insights, underscoring the importance of mutual learning and exchange.
“Like Shallipopi, he doesn’t have a wonderful voice but once he holds that mic and says “Plutomanians”…It’s just the swag. Do you think it’s by voice? It’s not by voice”.
“I am in a good position to advise him because I am more exposed musically, entertainment-wise so I can advise him, and he too can advise me. It’s vice versa.”
A few months back, WhiteMoney shared his plans to take his music international, explaining that Nigerians often misunderstand him.
In an interview with The Punch Sunday Scoop, WhiteMoney emphasized that his passion for singing is deeply rooted and revealed that his inspiration comes from the Holy Spirit.
While cooking—a skill he showcased in the BBNaija house—is a passion, he asserted that music is his true talent, something he’s proven over time.
“I know that some Nigerians already see me in a certain way, so they would not want me to do my thing. They want me to stick cooking, because of my affinity with the kitchen while in the BBN house. But, I already have that going on. Cooking is a passion, but music is my talent; and I have proved in many ways.
“Currently, I think my brand has more prospects outside Nigeria than in the country. Nigerians don’t understand me. They don’t know what I’m about. So, I want to take my brand international with my cooking, music and everything else that I do.”
