Morravey, DWM’s new signee, has revealed how her record label CEO, Davido, approached her, glamsquad reports
In a recent interview with Turntable Charts, the Port Harcourt-born singer revealed that when she saw Davido’s letter, she froze on her bed.
She claimed that after a video of her singing went viral on social media, the 30BG head honcho approached her and announced his intention to sign her.
“I was practicing to make a cover of a song,” she explained, “and my friend was filming without my knowledge.” So, when we couldn’t post that particular song, he put that video [the section] when I wasn’t visible. When he shared it, it went viral.
“Then, one morning, I received a text message, and when I checked it, it was from Davido.” I exclaimed, ‘Ye!’ I became immobile. I was lying in my bed. After that, I texted my boss.
“He [Davido] said, ‘Your voice is incredible.'” ‘May I get your phone number?’ Then he texted me, saying, ‘What’s up? It’s David…’ Then he texted me on WhatsApp, and everything went downhill from there. He said, ‘I want to visit you in Lagos.’ That is how I got from Port Harcourt to Lagos.”
