I Saw ‘Strange Things’ As A Backup Singer For Micheal Jackson – Sheryl Crow

Micheal Jackson’s one time back-up singer Sheryl Crow has opened up about her close friendship with the pop king and she did recalls seeing ‘really strange things’.

The All I Wanna Do hitmaker sang backing vocals on Jackson’s mammoth Bad world tour in the 1980s and also appeared in the music video for his single “Dirty Diana”.

During this era, Jackson is accused of behaving inappropriately with James Safechuck and Wade Robson when they were young boys. The two dancers, now grown men in their 40s, made the claims in the controversial documentary Leaving Neverland which aired earlier this year.

Sheryl, 57, says she has not watched the documentary and doesn’t plan on seeing the four-hour long series.

Speaking to The Telegraph, the country singer explained:

“I haven’t seen the documentary and I don’t want to see it. ‘I was around for some things that I thought were really strange and I had a lot of questions about.”

Sheryl developed a close friendship with Jackson during their time on tour and recalls how starstruck she was while singing with the pop superstar on the tour.

‘It was a crazy experience. I mean, he the biggest star of a generation and I got to sing a duet [I Just Can’t Stop Loving You] with him every night for 18 months,’ Sheryl said.

The singer continued:

“He was very exacting and the shows were very rote – the polar opposite of the kind of spontaneous gigs I do now. But I had never been out of the US before and suddenly I was on stage in Japan, then we were all running around Disneyland Tokyo in the middle of the night like a bunch of 12-year-olds.”

In July, it was reported that Jackson fan groups were suing Robson and Safechuck over their allegations against the late singer.
