“I haven’t done anything wrong, on any level”- James Corden retracts apology to NYC restaurant owner

James Corden has taken back the apology he gave to the owner of a New York City restaurant earlier this week because he now claims he didn’t do anything wrong.

The host of “The Late, Late Show” spoke with the New York Times on Thursday and dismissed the accusations, saying that he behaved like “Cretin” by acting out at Balthazar Brasserie in Soho twice.

“I haven’t done anything wrong, on any level. So why would I ever cancel this,” Corden told a NYT reporter referring to their interview following his awkward restaurant incident.

“I was there. I get it. I feel so Zen about the whole thing. Because I think it’s so silly. I just think it’s beneath all of us. It’s beneath you. It’s certainly beneath your publication,” he added.

At another point in the interview, Corden peeked over to a patron of the upscale Mark Restaurant who was moaning about her food.

“Happens every day,” Corden told the reporter. “It’s happening in 55,000 restaurants as we speak. It’s always about eggs.”

“Can you imagine now, if we just blasted her on Twitter? Would that be fair? This is my point. It’s insane,” he added.

Recall that the comedian came under fire after Balthazar owner Keith McNally criticized him on Instagram for acting twice like a “tiny Cretin of a man.” Corden was expelled from McNally’s restaurant after he called him “the most abusive customer” ever. Corden then apologized profusely to McNally over the phone. Therefore, McNally revoked the prohibition.
