Nollywood actress, Ini Edo has opened up on how she was raised to respect men and her view on feminism.
Ini Edo said she is not a feminist since she was brought up to respect and value men in an interview on the Tea with Taypod podcast. She is a regimented person even though she loves to defend women’s rights and believes in the need for equality.
According to Ini Edo, who is comfortable with being a queen and a lady, she isn’t competing with some of her colleagues for the title of King.
She said; “Being a feminist means different thing to different people.
I love to protect women’s rights and I feel the need for equality, but I am also a structured person.
I have been raised a certain way. I am raised to respect and value men.
I want to be a woman and also want to be able to be a queen. I am not struggling for the King’s position. I am comfortable being a queen as long as there is nothing hovering my crown”.
