No filmmaker, she believes, would intentionally waste time and money by making a bad film.
The actress explained the amount of work that goes into Nollywood films in a video she posted on her Instagram page, as well as the unconstructive criticism they receive online.
She also praised the efforts of Nigerian filmmakers, encouraging them to keep up the good work and strive to be the best that they can be.
“I’ve gone online a few times and I’ve heard people criticizing the Nigerian film industry, criticizing our films, and condemning them. It also hurts. Nobody spends their money and then makes a bad movie, in my opinion.
“Not even constructive criticism, but really negative things, and it hurts me because they think it’s easy to gather a bunch of people, get crew, get cast, get them to different locations, shoot morning to morning, and suffer.”
“I don’t think anyone wants to waste time and money by making a bad film on purpose.” We make the best of what we have. We try, we push, and it is because of this that we have a thriving industry today.
“I applaud and recognize everyone involved in filmmaking in Nigeria.” Continue your excellent work. “We need you in the future to tell our stories,” the actress said.
She is without a doubt one of the outspoken actresses promoting the Nollywood brand.
Meanwhile, the actress has a YouTube monologue series called ‘In The Chair.’
